Hi, my name’s Julia.

I’m a UX and Product Designer with a passion for making technology more accessible, one user experience at a time. I graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a BA in Communications in May 2023. I am currently working at Secureworks Inc., a global leader in cybersecurity.

Where my UX story began.

One of my favorite jobs that I have ever worked was being a daycare assistant from 2020-2021, when most schools were either fully remote or hybrid due to the ongoing pandemic. As a result, I found myself trying to help Kindergarten aged students complete their schoolwork through Google Classroom. After a year of trying to teach five year old's (most of whom could barely read) how to type up their homework and submit it online, I realized the true importance of making digital programs more accessible to the user. I then began studying under a Google Professional Certificate in UX Design, and used those skills to solidify a Product Design internship with SecureWorks Inc. in May of my Junior year.

With a background in Communication and Anthropological studies, I believe that User Experience Design is a critical part of Software development. As designers, it's our job to bridge the gap between user and technology, an opportunity to make the constantly-evolving digital world more accessible to all types of users.
